After seeing this error with a second customer I decided to write a blog about this. The symptoms are as follows:
- The MS Release Management web client generates a CS1583 error page
- The MS Release Management client keeps working correctly
- Removing the temporary internet files on the MS Release Management Server offered no solution
The quick fix for this is to reboot your server, after that everything works fine for a while. Often within a few weeks you experience the exact same problem again.
In my experience the best chance to solve this problem is to upgrade MS Release Management Server 2013 to at least version 4 for some customers this worked and the CS1583 doesn’t appear anymore. I also know some customers who received the CS1583 even while running update 4.
